Thank you…so much for your God-sent reflection which awakened in me the realization that I have taken a three month “vacation” from this cleansing Sacrament of Reconciliation. Although, I must admit, that our Lord has been nudging me. Thank you for the push. I am so bewildered that I place other “things” first when I know with all my being the inexpressible freedom, gratitude, and joy that awaits me when I exit the confessional doors. Thank God for His persistent patience!!!

Thank you for your reflection on today’s reading. Because of illness I am unable to go to church today and you words are the sermon I needed to hear. I have been wanting to go to confession but find all kinds of excuses not to, letting life get in the way. Putting me first not God.

Because of your words I WILL go this week and try to go through the Door of Mercy as well. I want and need that before they are closed. I need his grace and forgiveness.

Very thought-provoking, Joe. It’s the best take I have ever read or heard on “the narrow way” and what it means in a practical day-to-day way. As to whether to turn left for the church or to turn right back to work, I know the feeling! It’s a bit like “going the extra mile”. I feel encouraged by your words…..now to put it into practice, including Confession!

What do one do when it has been too long since the last time of taking the Sacrament of Reconciliation? Either I put off going to confession or I am uncomfortable approaching our parish priest because he knew me that much. Pride and self-righteousness are my stumbling blocks. Thank you for your insights on forgiveness and seeking d grace of healing. It gives me more courage to enter that narrow door of d confession box. Pray for me.
