I don’t normally read daily readings or seek out reflections, but today I felt moved to do so. Your words express the very cycle of sin/seeking forgiveness I have been experiencing. In recent months I have grown in faith, praying daily, going to confessionals mass regularly. So far, it’s affect has been to make me keenly aware of this daily struggle. I am humbled to God’s chastening, in learning this will be an ongoing process! I would like to testify the Holy Spirit has lifted my spirits by simply opening my eyes to the nature of my struggles. Praise God in his infinite mercy and wisdom! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and those of Mrs. Day. I should like to find that cartoon. I imagine it perhaps to be a Family Circle cartoon of one of the children’s laments about the “tough” life we have as children here in the West. Lastly, I wanted to mention the kindred connection I felt to see you are the author of this reflection I stumbled upon. I went to Butler University and have relatives in the Carmel area.
