Dear Joe, I am starting to believe there are just a handful who find conversion by way of the "Road to Damascus." To many of us, it is one brick of mortar at a time until we finally have anything near to even the foundation on which our house will stand. But as scripture advised us, the secret is praying unceasingly -and indeed making our entire life one continuous prayer!

Thanks a lot for the wonderful reflection.

Happy 3rd Advent Sunday to you, Kristy and little Joseph.

Thanks Joe! My life's been on a nearly parallel path like yours, so I know and FEEL your words too. I'm practically at Step 1 and not quite to Step 2, but I am 'shedding' some things that weren't useful to me going forward. I sense that I'm on the right trail, and I pray and hope that this journey will continue on 'point' until I die. I've fallen too many times; and believe that now I can keep walking it as I should at last. Your words are appreciated and very much a 'shared' experience for ME!!! God bless you and your family, and what you do here too!!

Thank you Joe. Your reflection propelled me to write down a few points you made. It moved me. I am tempted today to give into discouragement and anxiety over a particular situation. You words both challenge, and give hope. God bless all.

Maybe, just maybe, we use God as a crutch and even as an excuse. God has granted us life, provided direction and enlightenment, and told us to use our gifts and our free will to be the very best we can be. We have in us the power to be what God intended us to be. Take a deep breath, show God your gratitude by moving ahead without fear. Your child continually grows into independence of constant parental direction; but retaines the acquired vales and virtues. We are to mature and conduct ourselves in the same way in our relationship to our creator-father.
