I thought I knew a lot about the Catholic faith, after teaching catechesis to children for 15 years, BUT, I had only scratched the surface. Every time I watch Journey Home on EWTN or other Catholic videos, I learn something new.

As a principle for learning “Ask questions” is fundamental. At the beginning of teaching a new (postgraduate) class always I said “There is no question that is stupid; what is stupid is not to ask the question.”

If it is not intrusion, may I ask how the fact (as you report it) of your marriage not being sacramental affects you both? I am in a similar position having married a divorcee, and so married in a Registry Office. I have worked on the basis that God’s grace and forgiveness means we are not affected, provided we live up to the standards of marriage, as we have for 47 years.

Thank you John. Sheer ignorance and fear keep us away from Jesus Christ…especially our younger generations. I commend you for your perseverance–your faith is obviously important to you. It’s discouraging and heart-breaking to see our youth fall into the lies of our culture. Let us begin to renew our culture by establishing public prayer, like Rosary rallies near our churches. May Our Lady inspire us to begin in her month of October. May God bless you all.
