I love the sharing, it has really enriched my thinking in God's perspective. My question is how can we know our gifts or talents given by God and try not to bury them? This is because some people are born and thrive in families where they are guided/directed to do for their prosperity until their late ages.

I am the same anonymous and I do procrastinate and have my lazy moments that I must work on as well. But what I forgot to include in my comments is this. "Fruit" As Americans in particular but also as a social planet as well. We believe and sow and plant and we expect fruit too soon (least I do this as well as many, many others) It takes us working together with God once the seed is sown to nurture what kind of fruit and what will be the out come of the fruit, the point being is we modenized civilized people say we want something and plant the seed for it then expect the fruit the next day. It does not work that way. Don't think it ever will yet it is God's fruit and He will bring it to fruition. Love Anonymous

Laziness and reaping what is not sown. I must admit I am lazy sometimes but hopefully I use what God has given me in large ways and in small. One of the things I have learned over the years is that it is not about me. God gives me opportunity to use my gifts. If I don't it is my fault
I believe part of God's plan is for us to be His instruments. We are the hands of God in everything we do. He expects us to be His hands. That is part of His plan. We are His sowers.

Hello Bob. What, though, is the significance of not reaping what i sown? It almost seems as if the servant is accusing his master.

"To one he gave five talents; to another, two; to a third, one– TO EACH ACCORDING TO HIS ABILITY". The parable also states that the servants that were given 5 and 2 talents IMMEDIATELY went out and increased what they were given. I need to work on my procrastination which is a form of laziness. If it doesn't take me more than 5 minutes to do, then I should just do it. Oftentimes, trying to be a perfectionist results in a stagnant outcome. The fear of wanting and waiting for that "perfect or ideal time" to complete a task just brings about more stress and anxiety. I agree with Anonymous' comment above. God gives us our own specific talents and abilities in accordance to what He feels we can handle. Therefore, any hardship or challenge that we face needs to be looked upon as something that God knows we can deal with. I often tell my kids and myself as well that God will never give us too much that He feels we cannot cope with and overcome. Thank you, Bob, for your enlightening reflection! God bless and keep you.

Great reflection Bob. Linda the person with one talent is operating out of a position of distorted fear, so the parable say's. What if the one talent person is just lazy and used the fear comments to cover his laziness. We don't get to have all the answers but it's important to know not to operate out of distorted irrational fear or laziness. Mark we are all created equal in dignity. Not equal, equal in dignity. Our souls are different, the soul is the mind, the intellect the will and emotion and feeling. Which should put your questions in a better perspective. God created us to need Him and each other. Not a generic equation of equality and soul are all statically equal. It obviously does not work that way. I hope this helps a little. Thanks for your attention. Praise be to God and thank you God for my soul. Thank you for my brothers and sisters in Christ dear God.
