Thanks John for an inspiring reflection. We also have taken our kids to our home country to see and experience the life we grew up in, their roots. I believe it has opened their eyes and realize there is a different life out there. We always love to travel and just hope that we find the donkeys we're supposed to search for...perhaps we already found them! We just follow where God leads us...

Thank you John for sharing your search for your Italian heritage. Like your Aunt Christie, my mother was born in Castoreale Sicily and came to the US as a five year old child, along with her identical twin, older sister and mother. Grandpa Alesci had come a couple of years earlier to establish a home. Two of my daughters, future son in law and I have a two week trip schedule that was postponed due to the pandemic. It's been rescheduled for June. I pray we, like Saul, will be open to the possibilities. "Hee Haw”!

Thank you John. Really nice connection to the readings. Interesting what God has in store for us if we open up and listen to his call. A donkey hunt turned into a life/world changer. Hee-haw it is!
