During my study of the Bible and our Catholic traditions I came to the same conclusion. Our Catholic “catechism” has essentially become the new “oral tradition”. Both are flawed because they are derived from the thinking of men. They tend to dull the sharpness of His double edged sword. Therefore as you say “ Let His word be our guide”.

Thank you for your beautiful reflection on the Big T Tradition and Little T tradition. It reminds me of one of the titles on who God is,“I am the Alpha and the Omega…” And today being the last day of 2021 and in a few hours will be the first day of 2022, reminds me too that the Lord God is “the one who is and who was and who is to come, the almighty.” Revelation 1:8
