Thanks for sharing this wonderful message with us. I’m not sure how I stumbled across your post, but always feel that God has a hand in everything. The title of your post really caught my eye. I am the author and illustrator of the Insightful Ewe Book Series, which are Christian children’s picture books. My intentions are similar to yours, only in making an effort to reach children at a young age. Your reflection spoke to me as a parent of little ones and how it’s sometimes hard to sacrifice our time and energy and put them first, but by doing so we are showing love, like how Jesus loves us. Simple but not always easy.

I am volunteering with the Society of St Vincent de Paul Pregnancy Initiative Support. We, too, are working with mothers who are delivering babies, not in barns, however, I do have 2 young women who are moving around from place to place, because they don’t have apartments of their own. We are trying to take care of their temporal needs: food , clothing, utilities and housing. Our Conferences and Council are a great help with this program. They carry the financial burden and foot work for for these young women. Our hope is to help bring their children into a better living situation. We try to bring the Face of Christ to those who feel invisible.
