Thanks for sharing. I see so many families/friends that have let disagreements/slights or the like fracture relationships with neither side willing to even try to “repair the breach”. One such instance is a fellow parishioner who has refused to speak to his siblings since the death of their mother. I’m not familiar with the situation except the fact that the family is split and may always be. And yet, I’m sure both sides of the family hear Jesus say in Matthew 5 that resolution of differences must be done before leaving your gift at the altar.
Your family story is a shining example of how to resolve a family split. Someone has to make the first move and the other party must say yes.
