Priests have given homilies on how to make a good confession; they discourage grocery list type confessions because it&#039;s usually the same list week after week.  I wonder if that&#039;s why the Church changed going for &quot;confession&quot; to preparing for &quot;reconciliation&quot;. 

If we could go back in time and reconcile with those we have hurt, be forgiven by them personally that would be like having a huge burden lifted. I recall asking my mother&#039;s forgiveness sometime before she passed away.  Which she did, but I often go back to my younger days and wish things could have been different.

This month commemorates 20 years since my mother passed away. Her soul is at rest.

May our Blessed Mother Mary intercede for us who seek true reconciliation.  As you say true forgiveness is waiting as a reward for true repentance.
