Our family still uses the saying ‘offer it up’ and it has been used frequently over the past several years. The way it was always explained to me is by offering up our suffering we are enjoining or uniting our suffering to that of Jesus’ suffering on the Cross which he did for all mankind. Or in my own translation, giving our suffering purpose for the good of others, like Christ did for all of us. Happy Easter to you and all the A Catholic Moment readers!
