All children are totally innocent and have never committed a sin. My understanding is that from the time of Baptism till we first commit our own sin is the true age of innocence. My wife was just under 3 lbs when she was born. The doctor yelled to get her (my wife) baptized immediately according to her mother. I sure a just God would never condemn a baby born but not baptized. If you believe in God then you have to believe in a just God.

I do have one minor point of contention. When we are born, from the time we are baptized until the first sin is committed, we are technically speaking a saint. We are all good during this time.
