It also occurred to me that Jesus not only slept so deep because he was exhausted but also because he gave his sleep to his Father (he knew his Father would care for him through the thunderstorm).

Hey Julie,

You bring up a couple of points that I wonder about from time to time.

First, DNA. I think we can agree that half of the human DNA came from Mary. Where did the other half come from?

Second, you mentioned that He knows all. Seems to me that that power would nullify free will, no?

Thank you, Julie. You add well to what I was thinking, along those lines, too, at Mass: how it seems Our Lord was up early to pray every day, and then too, contact with people is very, very tiring, even if you’re just talking to them. So He slept when He got the chance, and on board a boat is a good chance! His human-ness is sometimes our best encouragement when our own human-ness slows us down.
