Bob, thank you so much for this reflection, it was much needed for me today-“Drifting always creates a potential crisis”! How true,and so many times I am guilty of exactly that! Hey Bob,

In your reflection you bring up an important point.

If you look back throughout history and study what was left behind, you may be a little surprised. From a religious standpoint, we had the Arc of the Covenant, the Torah and numerous artifacts from the Saints. With maybe the exception of a facial imprint on a cloth, what did Jesus leave behind? The New Testament? No. Other than a little writing in the sand, I can’t recall Jesus writing anything down. So what did He leave behind? What “remains” of Jesus?

He left us the Church.

Which is why St John so concerned about followers straying from the Church.

Thank you Bob. A very timely reflection at the start of the year!!. "to remain in Him''. That is something worth reminding ourselves any time the going gets tough. I know i will use it for sure. The need to keep in daily contact with our Lord by carrying ''our Jesus phones'' very well put. May God bless you abundantly as you share your reflections with us.
