Truly an awesome reflection. I never thought about our prayers as a means of convincing ourselves of the importance of what we are asking for. Perhaps that is also why Jesus asked us to pray for our enemies too, because our prayers would change US?

Your reflection today was an answer to a prayer I just prayed this morning. I’ve recently returned to the Church and have always struggled with praying for what I want. I trust God to know what is best for me, yet, like you and your typewriter, you wanted God to know just how much you wanted it. Your desire was especially good because your gift leads people to Him.
