“Trust in the Lord forever! For the Lord is an eternal Rock.” This verse in scripture is from the first reading for Mass today, from the book of Isaiah. Jesus tells us something similar in today’s gospel: “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.”
