The eye indeed is the window to the soul. A child only sees beauty for the first time, his/her mother’s face. It fills the child’s whole being with love, without his or her knowing what that word means. The child’s face lights up. And we adults delight in seeing that. I’ve heard/read that very young children can see their guardian angel who are radiant with light. How fantastic that would be if we still had that innocence. Carol makes a good point. The news on television is taken in through the eyes, and it makes my stomach turn. Only daily prayer can keep our eyes sound.

One thing came to mind. What about the blind person, whether from birth or through some other way? Yes, the body is in darkness. So, I’m assuming they see with the eyes of the heart. So should we all.

If we all followed that advice the world would be a better place. We all have talents and something to give even if it’s a simple prayer for those around us. I wonder if reading the news affects the eye? Sometimes I wish I didn’t know of all the negativity in the world today. It really makes me defensive of those around me. Where do you draw the line between being accepting of those around you with different views and defending your views on truth? I wonder what a child’s view would be?
