MONDAY OF THE 26TH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME, YEAR C SEPTEMBER 29, 2025, FEAST OF THE ARCHANGELS

Today, we join the Holy Mother Church, presences to us the Feast of the Archangels: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael.

The archangels venerated in the tradition of the Church.

Michael (Who is like God?) fought against Satan and all his evil angels, defending all the friends of God.

Gabriel (Strength of God) made known to Zachariah the forthcoming birth of John the Baptist, and to Mary, the birth of Jesus.

Raphael (Medicine of God) took care of Tobias on his journey to find a wife for himself.

Angels are pure, created spirits. The name angel means servant or messenger of God. Angels have intellect and will and are immortal. They are a vast multitude, but each is an individual person.

You may have said to someone of heard someone say “You’re an angel.” This means Angel-like. You are God’s messenger, a hand of God. Jesus said “Whatever you do to my brothers and sisters, that you do unto me”

We are called to be Jesus to the people we meet, their angle.

Do you remember the saying, “Treat everyone you meet well, because you may be the last Gospel they read.” This is a powerful metaphor emphasizing that a person’s actions can be the most influential and authentic display of their faith. For someone who has never heard the Gospel or been exposed to Christian teachings, a believer’s conduct may be their only “bible.”

As the angles are “messengers” or “announcers” of God’s wondrous work, we are called to offer GOD our worthy of praise, wherever we are.

Have a wonderful Week
