MONDAY OF THE 12TH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME JUNE 23, 2025

The refrain from the Responsorial is “Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.” Today we begin the story of Abram (whose name will later be changed to Abraham) and the promise of blessing that GOD extends to him. We read that God called and Abram responded in obedience. God gave Abram instructions and Abram followed them, then God blesses Abram with more abundance. The triple blessings that God made to Abram are- land, descendants, and source of blessings for others as he shares what he has (his faith) with others.

In the God we are reminded of God’s graciousness. Jesus admonishes his followers that they must be responsible with the blessing that GOD has given them. Blessings are meant to be shared.

We should not be selfish with the gifts that we receive from the Lord. We should not think only of ourselves or refuse to share the blessing that GOD has given us.

The psalmist says today: “See, the eyes of the LORD are upon those who fear GOD, upon those who hope for the LORD’s kindness, to deliver them from death and preserve them in spite of famine.”

Have a wonderful week
