Hi Dan. Your reflection spoke to me today. Like you, I've felt the fire burning bright in me, but kept losing it time and time again. But I keep going back and trying again each time, and I hope one day when I meet my maker, it will be enough, and He will show me love and mercy.

Thank you for this awe-inspiring reflection that spoke directly to my conscience. This is my struggle, falling or slipping down many times to the
valley as l try reaching the peak. May God through the Holy Spirit grant me and my likes the zeal to the renewal that will raise us up to the peak of our faith.

The first reading from Revelations at first seems confusing. First Ephesus is being praised for their endurance and suffering and you not grown weary. Then scolded for having lost the love they had at first. It occurred to me that we can still persevere in doing good works, spreading the word of God, but what is probably lacking is passion, deep down faith that moves the mind, the heart and soul. I have often felt like I've lost that passion. We attend Mass out of habit, we do good works because it's the right thing to do. I think Jesus would agree with the Righteous Brothers who wrote the song You've lost that loving feeling .... it happens to spouses, friends, in the workplace, in the church, in the world at large because we are surrounded by things that get us down, we lose the love that propelled us. If Jesus asked me today What do you want me to do for you, I'd say Put a little love in my heart. ?

May the love of God guide our hearts and minds, just for today. God bless.

Dan, very good reflection. Your writing today pretty much sounded like you were writing about me. Cradle Catholic, chasing worldly delights, the peaks and valleys, Etc... Thank you and God Bless.

Dan, how awesome to stumble across your reflection, after just recently reconnecting with you and Sue. I can't tell you how on point this was for me. I'll definitely be passing this on to Peter. Thank you!

Thanks Dan for your wonderful reflection. It has really touched me. It has described the true me in the mornings when I try to wake up for morning prayer and fall back to the warmth of the blanket. I wonder how I will be able to stand naked before God when time comes. Kindly pray for me and those who are like so that our faith can be rekindled and come back to life again. Thanks and God bless you

Dear Dan. Reading your reflection today was like reflecting on myself. My fire also runs from hot hot to cool embers and despite myself God continues to stoke my fire and warm me. Also like you over and over and over the fire in my heart God rekindles. This greatly humbles me to read that I am not alone in this earth struggle to be alive with a roaring fire in my heart and keep the blaze roaring throughout the distraction around us. Humbles me because through your word I feel I see I re-realize how we all struggle with the hardships in our lives yet God is with all of us he has faith in all of us. thank you again for helping me feel not alone in my personal struggles in my personal ups and downs hills and valleys strength and weakness....etc.

Thank you Daniel, what an encouraging reflection. It is so hard to maintain that faith, which is a relationship. Like any relationship, it's hard work. At times, I don't want to put the work in. But it is always worth putting in the effort. It helps to know I am not alone either.
