My grandmother would look towards the mountain and determine if we were to go or not. Clouds at the top meant rain which would make the creek rise.

I really enjoyed today’s reflection. The part that hit me most was once the paved road was in use the “creek rising” was no longer part of the criteria for God’s will. I think I often live by past criteria… the rising of the creek and forget about the paved road that enables the way for me to do God’s will. Thank you Mary.

I am a caregiver at a nursing home and when I say goodnight, so many of the residents reply ” Lord willing and the creek don’t rise”
And then they contentfully go to sleep.
