The political HACKS who make more money than rock stars and think they are the news are the worst enemy of our country. Too bad we don’t execute traitors anymore; there are quite a few in DC for sure. As Jesus had no use for his scribes I have little to NONE who serve the democratic propaganda arm and swear allegiance to Hillary, Obama, Pelosi, etc. The money they make and the clowns they are become the spectacle of ‘news’ for Americans. I haven’t listened or watched TV or radio news in years; and I’m not missing anything important. I think Trump should discontinue the briefings that Sarah Sanders gives to the obnoxious, liberal press!!! It’s just another platform to make jack-asses of themselves; while they believe they are more important than the President of the U.S. These DC ‘journalists’ deserve all the righteous scorn they have brought on themselves by being heretics of their damned job to the American people!!!

The media showed a picture of him in his graduation cap and gown and interviewed his best friend who stated they did nothing and he was standing in the street with his hands up and the police gunned him down and this was the story the media ran with. The race riot that followed for weeks was a plus no doubt for the medias ratings. This is how dangerous their irresponsibly can be and how they will do anything for ratings and why the publics opinions are rock bottom of them.

To me it reads like an apologia for good-hearted, sincere journalists. Nothing wrong with that, as far as it goes. But I think today’s rant against the Scribes, and the issue Our Lord takes with them and the Pharisees on several occasions, comes from his universal abhorrence of hypocrisy wherever it rears its ugly head. The Scribes get it in the neck not because they were “journalists”, but because, as you indeed say, they were the “intelligentsia” of the day, the “Establishment” of the day, and as such were thought- and behaviour-leaders for the population. That’s why Jesus trains his anger on them, because they have a huge responsibility to lead and set a good example to those who look up to them. Sadly the fact is that our leaders in the establishment today, from politicians to broadcasters to business leaders to individuals who spout judgemental criticism on social media, do not practise what they preach, and are hypocrites too often. As Christians we are called to be like Jesus and speak up against hypocrisy wherever we find it, and refuse to go along with it. So we should all of us be like your sincere “good honest men and women” in our “struggle” for the truth.

You’ve made some good points and I think you are correct in saying there are good people serving as journalists.
The pendulum has swung so far that the truth does not lie in the middle anymore but is considered by many as extremist.
