Thanks Dan. Our natural hunger for justice was put there by God because I believe we were made in His image. We crave what God is: perfect Justice and Mercy. At the same time, He put that hunger there so we can cry out to Him to deliver justice, just as king David did in the Psalms, trusting that God will deliver it in His perfect timing, whether we witness it in our own lifetimes or not. It is, as you pointed out, placing that burden on God. It is much too heavy for our human frailties to carry. Our job is to trust Him. Thanks for the awesome reflection.

Only by the Grace of God do I forgive. Many deep cuts but through God I stand again and move on. As for those who terrorize peoples we must pray! Pray for a change of heart! Pray for the victims. That’s a lot, a lot of prayer. God bless the hard hearted and provide the victims with a blanket of your love and comfort!

Instead-and here is the hard part-we must turn around and offer up the other cheek.We must respond to persecution with great humily,love and prayers.We must love our enemies.What a difficult thing!Especially,in a world of selfishness and self-centredness.May God always grant us the grace to rise above the animal insticts,and be willingly glad to forgive,love and pray for those who persecute us.Thanks Dan for the wonderful reflection.

I am still struggling with the lesson from the first reading. In the beginning the king was being fair and willing to offer a fair price or exchange for the vineyard. It was his wife who enacted the vengeance on Naboth, and there was no possible way for Naboth to turn a cheek or seek revenge because he was killed. So what to take away from this other than don’t tell your wife you’re upset at someone?

As a soccer player you are always looking for the referee to manage the game with fair play. When you are fouled without justice its always difficult to play on without a grudge…just like everyday life. Love the WC and the game of futbol… a lesson for humanity and footballers alike, play through the fouls of life and let the ultimate referee decide the calls. Thanks Dan
