Thank you for this thought provoking reflection. I especially liked the Thomas Merton quote. It's really making me contemplate the way I look at others. I'm going make an effort to strive to see people as God sees them, and act accordingly.

Thank you for your reflection, Dan. In deed, this was a goody. What a beautiful realization to have as Thomas Merton expressed. It is a wonderful thought I will carry in my mind and heart as the week begins. God Bless!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts today. I watched the movie about father Romero on EWTN. I was filled with such admiration for the priests who loved and cared for all those marginalized by the powers in control. They truly were shepherds of their flock , in spite of all their suffering and persecution they never gave up. They loved all the people and gave their lives for them. We need more people with open hearts that see everyone as Gods children.
I highly recommend seeing this movie, it will change the way you look at others, It would truly change the world if all the love and forgiveness we receive from God is shared.

Hey Dan,

Nice reflection.

What did take me back a bit was the line: "In a violent world filled with hatred, fear, suspicion and paranoia ... isn't it time that to respond with love to those who need it the most?" Sure, there are places in this world that are in turmoil, but I would say they are in the minority. By far, most of us will go about living life day after day until we die of natural causes. (If we are born into this world, but that's another topic). Yes, our view of this world lead us to believe it is far from perfect, but stop for a moment and wipe the gloom from your eyes.

Maybe I'm more of an optimist than I thought, but I think a better line would have been:
"In a wonderful world filled with hope, generosity, understanding and optimism ... isn't it time respond with love to those who need it the most?"
