Hi joe . I have been going thru much the same worries . Then the Holy Spirit reminded me to come and sit . Be still with the Lord . I had gotten away from doing this . Now as I sit quietly the LOrd has reminded me He is the one who is in charge . We have been told do not be afraid , do not worry He is the Lord of all .He is creator and ruler even of this microscopic virus . So we must let go of all our fears hand them over to him . Sit still and receive His all encompassing peace . God Bless

I don’t know if you realize it, Joe, but i believe the Holy Spirit spoke through you today— not in the words themselves but through your whole experience of writing today’s reflection! You admit that you started with “nothing” and then, as you wisely allowed to step back and let the Spirit speak through you, your words became a heartfelt list of your fears, worries, and disappointments about our current situation. As we read, we readers were instantly drawn into the familiarity of your words because the echo our own anxieties.
“ I worry about my son”- Check!
“I think about the economy..”- Check!
As the list grew and took a life of its own, I suddenly realized that THIS is perhaps where God wants me to prune! I agree that the thankfulness, heroics, and littles joys springing up from this crisis most certainly come from the hand of God, but the Spirit, through you today, tells me that perhaps it’s time to personally prune my fear, prune my worry, and let God’s fruits— not my anxieties— thrive in my life right now.
