I REALLY should have read your reflection this morning. I got “busy” with the aftermath of yesterday. I will make a conscious effort to make this the first stop on my way into the day.

As always Bob you relay inspiration and inner reflection. How can we be so laser focused on cooking, shopping, eating (and lets be honest- arguing) that we tend to overlook one of the worst situations befalling our Christian brothers and sisters around the world?

It seems all to often we concern ourselves with only OUR country, OUR neighborhood, OUR family, OUR religion.

No matter the denomination of a Christian sect, we all bow down to the one true King. We go by labels in today’s “check the box” world, and sadly, Christians are no different. We have Catholicism, Baptist, Episcopal etc.... We chose to break off into our own tribes so to speak, because we didn’t like certain rules. We think we know better!

Truth is, there are many roads that lead to the same destination, we all pick our own route, means of travel and we even started our own pace!

As Bob reminds us, TRUE Christians are being persecuted around the world as though we slipped into some demonic, backwards, black hole type time warp sending us all back 2 thousand years. You won’t see this in the A block of ANY major news cast or on a single front page in print around the globe. There is an occasional exception, but it is rare. We all want to know who wore what to whatever award thingy, right? Sigh... Anyway...

They are under attack and need our prayers more than ever. We are so lucky to live where we can worship in His sunlight! We can fall to our knees in joy or sorrow without worry of punishment or death! We truly are blessed beyond our earnings.

God Bless and help us ALL.

Hey Bob,

Nice reflection.

I was just wondering...your quote from Luke.

I understand that this world we live in will pass away. But Heaven will pass away? I thought we as Catholics have a goal to strive to be with our Father in Heaven?

Sounds like a good and enjoyable Thanksgiving for the Burford's. I speak for many followers of the Catholic Moment when I say thank you for your thoughts, words and connections that all the authors bring. These things are important and they are gifts that will not pass away. Thank you Bob and friends!

Thanks Bob. You are right that the gift purchases probably won't last or will be forgotten or discarded. I always felt a bit sad during the insane Christmas season purchasing frenzy when I worked in retail like you, because I realized back then how passing these things would soon be.
