The city walls were breached and the Chaldeans gained easy entry into Jerusalem. How do we protect ourselves against the enemy? Ephesians 6:13-17 tells us to – Fasten the belt of truth, put on the breastplate of righteousness, wear the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit of God, which is the word of God.

Will we plead with God to make clean our disfigured souls, our uncircumcised hearts and our distorted minds? Our merciful God will not only make clean but on this remnant He will bestow a crown of beauty from ashes.
