Love will come to its perfection in us when we can face the day of Judgement without fear; because even in this world we have become as he is. In love there can be no fear, but fear is driven out by perfect love: because to fear is to expect punishment, and anyone who is afraid is still imperfect in love.
Courage! It is I! Do not be afraid.’ Then he got into the boat with them, and the wind dropped. They were utterly and completely dumbfounded, because they had not seen what the miracle of the loaves meant; their minds were closed.
Our minds can also be closed. Not to the word of the Lord but to our relationship with Jesus. Sin can blind us and habitual sin can really muddy the waters. The sacrament of reconciliation is a start but a relationship with Jesus is our goal. Love will be perfected in us at that time. We all try to be good and do good in this world. It is a better feeling than winning the lottery.
The Devil will always put doubt in our minds and with doubt comes fear. That defeats the perfection of love in us. Why look back at the past. If you are reliving past mistakes. Satan has already won.
Every morning we should wake up looking forward to our day of judgement. You have done everything right . You use the sacraments. You have a relationship with Jesus your friend. You are ready.
Stop !
Don’t focus on what could be. Focus on what is. Our mission is to help others to the same relationship you have with Jesus. Spread the love. Yes, we can still make mistakes. We are human. Nonetheless we have a loving relationship with the God who will judge us. Jesus! Do what we can each day to be a servant of Jesus. Keep confident in the things you do and penance for the things we shouldn’t do.
Today a miracle will happen here in Tulsa. Today at 6:00 PM CDT at the Holy Family Cathedral in Tulsa Oklahoma a Deacon named Adrian will become a Priest. He heard the Lord’s call later in life and was a lay missionary for a number of years. His journey led him to the celebration of his ordination as a Priest tonight. He is a good man and was temporarily at my Church during his journey today.
Please pray for Adrian Meneses-Duarte today at 6 PM for blessings on the Holy day of his ordination and enjoy the confidence that you do not fear judgement. None of the saints were perfect and neither are you.
