I am ready for Lent!
Solomon was faithful when younger, but he got compromised with power and sin that settled into his life. The same thing could happen to you and me. We become complacent to the status quo, blinded by sin and deaf to Jesus speaking to us through scripture.
It is funny that both my wife, Anna, and I are getting new hearing aids. Anna’s old pair were rechargeable and only lasted an hour into Mass on Sunday. My old ones are just old. During COVID I chose not to wear them because they would get tangled in my protective mask. They would pop out and fall out onto the floor or worse yet into water. New technology that allows us to hear and communicate with each other and listen to God’s words. It is not the miracle that Jesus would have performed but it is His hand working a miracle to us. Their admiration was unbounded. ‘He has done all things well,’ they said, ‘he makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak.’
New hearing aids and preparing for Lent are part of God’s plan for us to draw closer to Him. We need to plan to be ready for the miracles that will be part of the Lenten season before us. In the Gospel of Luke Jesus speaks all the time about the Kingdom of God on Earth. We have to plan to be open to those experiences.

Enjoy the Kingdom of God and the blessings of doing something extra to become closer to God this Lenten season. Lenten meditations, adoration, Bible study and other things are all suggestions to benefit from this season. You will have a miracle. Not only the healing of your body, but it could be that. The healing of our souls which will last us for eternity.
