Okay I am copying that prayer and using it for our family evening prayer tonight. I love it. Thank you for showing that the Spirit is also a Spirit of joy. I forget that often unfortunately. I know Jesus laughed, and He was joyful. Why can’t I be that way? A good thing to meditate on and ask God to give to me. Thanks Bob.

Thank you, Bob. My father had a difficult time growing up. His father died when was only 4 years old and his mother took a job and took up drinking. Through everything he maintained a great sense of humor. He had a quick wit that always had people laughing. It was his defense against whatever was going wrong in his life. He kept his sense of humor when he had a stroke and worked so hard to maintain his strength and independence even though he was wheelchair bound. The ability to lighten a stressful situation with humor is a great gift.

Your story was good inspiration to always do the right thing even when you think you’re not going to like the outcome. The striking thing is when you had to make good on your oath, you didn’t just turn the man into the IRS for not doing his taxes but you HELPED him through filing his taxes. You’re a man of honor…. and humor?
