“He listened and wept with them BEFORE he did away with their pain by raising Lazarus. It reminds me how God’s way is to be with us in our suffering—even if he is eventually going to relieve our suffering“
This is such a light bulb moment for me. I’ve never looked at this way. I will hold on to this as I watch my dad suffer with Alzheimer’s and my mom suffer as his caregiver. I thank Jesus for the difficulty and march on.
Thank you Mary ❤️

Growing up Catholic I feared my parents dying. When time came, dad passing I responded Praise God! Again with my mom. Later I had a dream (vision) of my dad which was Heavenly! Just his head but was a person…… I cannot describe the beauty of a say 32 old man . He married late so I would not have experienced that look. Thank you Mary for your post and how God… Jesus continually builds our faith lives. Pray for the dead that you have known!!!

Hi Mary, many thanks for you reflection - beautifully expressed as always.

As I understand it, Lazarus is raised back here by Jesus to resume his earthly bodily form, just the way it was before he died and was placed in the tomb. This body of Lazarus will die again and will not be raised back to his earthly life.

The Resurrection of Jesus is entirely different to that because after His death He goes back to His Father in Heaven with His glorified body that will never die. And that is what is promised for all of us including "second time" Lazarus. We will also have our own glorified body - only glorified bodies "admitted" to Heaven!

I am in Brisbane Australia and appreciate this week's early posting since I usually like to catch up when it is early Sunday morning here.
Blessings, Frank
