Hello, Mary. Thank you for your reflection. I heard the best homily today at Mass today's regarding today's Gospel Reading. The priest talked about the difference between Eve's and Jesus's respective conversations with the devil - Eve allowed the devil to engage her, which was not helpful. Eve and the devil had a lengthy conversation. However, Jesus was very direct and to the point all three times when he said no to the devil. In other words, when temptations arise, don't interact with the devil - say no and move on. The more you converse with the devil, temptations grow, and the easier it is to fall into sin. Have a Blessed Lenten Season.

When I returned to the church after nine years I was confronted outside the church and aggressively attacked physically. Growing up I believed fighting was okay as long as you don’t throw the first blow. After the first encounter I said to God “I turned my cheek… I turned it thirty times, now I get to nail this guy.” The Lord answered no seventy times seven! Several minutes later he returned with more blows but I was protected by God and some Kung Fu (classes). I was now on a path to give up one of my favorite sports, fighting…44 years ago. Brings tears to my eyes, how blessed am I and how GREAT is our God! By the way I was outside working the sign ups for those interested in c.c.d. classes. Thanks Mary for your reflections

Thank you Mary for giving us the guidance to fully use the time of Lent to improve our Christian faith. Choosing the breath of God gives us the strength to resist sin and temptation. Blessings to you my sister.
