In reply to <a href="https://www.acatholic.org/be-confident-in-approaching-the-throne-of-grace/#comment-1973">Lisa</a>.

Lisa, thank you for the kind comment. I cannot imagine what you must be going through with your son, because I know how I love my own son and how I would feel to see him with an illness. Know that you and your son, and your entire family are in my prayers this weekend. Whenever things like this happen, we always ask why? What is God's plan? His plan is so much more beyond what we can even imagine, and he uses each and every one of us, and our circumstances to make us better people, and to make others better. How He does this, and the good that comes out of things like this is difficult to be measured or may never be seen in full until much later. But as Laura said, Jesus is drawing you closer, and he has something amazing planned for you and your son. Just stay strong through Him and know that He will get you through this time and help you to understand one day.

God Bless.

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry to hear of your son's illness, and what you are going through. My son had a major health problem, with multiple surgeries when he was little. He almost died. I'm very grateful for his life. It sounds like your son's condition is chronic though. That must be even more difficult. Maybe through your suffering, you will draw close to Jesus, and Jesus will draw close to you. He is such a source of strength in our lives. I know I couldn't have handled my son's surgeries and medical treatments without my faith. May God bless you and your family. I will pray for you this Sunday at Mass.

Peace.

Each day, I have been making it a habit to read the catholic daily readings. I have always had faith but felt called to learn more about the bible. At times I find the readings difficult to understand. Your reflection helps me to make sense of what God is telling me. My youngest child. 14, has had a rough go of things with a health issue. While I feel extraordinarily blessed to be the mother of four children, I am struggling terribly with his illness and why this has happened and what Gods plan is for my son. I am being called to faith more than ever and to trust and to surrender to Gods will. Praying for a miracle. Just wanted to thank you for your insight and that someone out there is paying attention.
