I converted to Cathoisism when I met my Catholic wife. We have been blessed with 43 wonderful years. I must agree that the catholic vows in marriage cement the bonds and are simply indellible. Nothing can break those bonds, for me not even death. Thanks for your true to life message!

My husband & I smiled at each other when we listened to the second reading. We have been together for 50 years, 45 of those years as a married couple. I can't imagine life without him or without God who has blessed us and guided us. I pray for those couples who do not find the love we did. One couple is my son and daughter-in-law. The healing after divorce is so hard especially when you question why did this happen. I encourage my son to seek God's help. Pray for him, please.

Great reflection today! Wonderful. I converted to Catholicism at the age of 50. My kids have been raised and educated catholic due to my wife's insistence/persistence. I never resisted, as I was not raised with any religious orientation. One day, our middle daughter, on a drive back to college asked me when I thought I would be prepared to to be the real leader of our family. Whoa! I cannot explain how powerful that moment was for me. I enrolled in RCIA the next week. Best decision I ever made. My wife and I were married in Church for our 25 year anniversary this year, with our four children as bride's maids and my nine year old son as the best man! For the first time in my life I could say I was complete - wanting for nothing as I watched our entire family participate in the Sacrament of Marriage.
We all take different routes! My wife carried the spiritual load for many years. Now I have been given the capability to help her.

Totally agree! My wife and I have also been married 15 years and all this is true. Myself I was a 55 year old man who had never married and my wife Anna was the same age. Anna was a widow.
Since then my wife has become a three times cancer survivor. We are now both 70 years old. Joshua 24:15 was always one of my favorite verses.
This morning we will serve at a "Back to School" pancake breakfast at Saint Paul's Catholic Church in
Saint Petersburg, FL. My wife was a former Parish Nurse at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Holy Matrimony which is totally sacramental is a process and a discipline of spiritual growth as well as earthly love. When she hurts I hurt and her joy is my joy. Blessings on you and your family.
