The Holy Spirit inspired our blog.
Memorial of Saint Bonaventure, Bishop and Doctor of the Church
At that time Jesus exclaimed:
“I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to the childlike.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows the Son except the Father,
and no one knows the Father except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”
Emphasis mine Matthew 11:25-27
Notice how Jesus starts out by first giving Praise to His Father.
Praise tells us Jesus can’t do what He is doing without God the Father giving Jesus the words and the actions before Jesus does and what He says.
Jesus answered and said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, a son cannot do anything on his own, but only what he sees his father doing; for what he does, his son will do also”. John 5:19
Before we started writing our blog, I prayed, “Your words, not mine, for your glory not mine.”
I’m sure most of you understand that we start our blog with a blank page, but when I, yes I (satan) read the readings I groaned, because nothing jumped out at me as it normally does. We read the readings again and the above quote made sense, how I didn’t know, but we copied it and pasted it, and started typing.
With that as a back drop, I believe Jesus had to wait to have God, His and our Father, show or tell Him what to say and or do,
PATIENCE,
Which I sadly lack.
We had to stop writing at this point and go and play nine holes of golf. Weeeeeeeeee scored a 55,
But
On the eighth hole The Holy Spirit told me where we were going with the balance of the blog, and I couldn’t wait to get back to start typing.
Every day we pray the four Mysteries of the Rosary, and every day we pray the third decade of The Glorious Mystery as a prayer of Thanksgiving for our family. On the eight hole the Holy Spirit told me we were going to share that prayer.
The Third Glorious Mystery: The Father and the Son send the Holy Spirit to be infused in our souls at Baptism, nourished with Communion with Jesus, will and lead us by the whisper of the Holy Spirit to the Father, through the Son through an increase of the Fruit and Gifts of the Holy Spirit so we might be Obedient sons and daughters (I know some of you can’t believe how long this is, but that is what we pray). The Church prays The Descent of The Holy Spirit:
Next,we pray The Our Father, ten Hail Marys, Glory be to God, Oh my Jesus.
Our Petition: (Note: We make a petition after each decade of the Rosary, Except for the Luminous Mysteries and they are dedicated to Peace, a world wide Revival, and the end of Abortion, but the third Glorious Mystery always has the same heading, (above), and the same petition – no changes)
Our Petitions:
I thank you for being born a Catholic and having the opportunity to attend daily Mass and Celebrate a God of Outrageous Love
I Celebrate: God the Father sending His Beloved Son to come down and climb up on the wonderful awful cross so that all men might be Justified.
I Celebrate: Jesus at the request of His Father instantly coming down and through His life and Death on the Cross taught us to do the will of God the Father for the Glory of God the Father.
I Celebrate: the Father and Son sending The Holy Spirit to be infused in our souls at Baptism, Nourished with Communion with Jesus and through the whisper of the Holy Spirit leads us to the Father through the Son as Obedient Sons and Daughters. (Notice each person has a function – Justification, Glory, and Obedience)
I thank you for my Parents and Gail’s Parents bringing this most precious gift to Gail and I.
I thank you for all our ancestors going back to Adam and Eve and including Adam and Eve, for their love of you and their love of you as a Triune God.
I thank you for Gail, I do, the boys, I do, their wives, I do, their children, I do, their children’s wives, I do, and their children’s children, I do.
I thank you for all of the miracles that have taken place to keep us healthy and safe. I do.
I thank you for all the blessings you have bestowed upon us, especially the blessing of Fantastic Health, I do, and a family filled with Love, Joy and Peace towards each other. I do.
I thank you for the food we eat, I do, the clothes we wear, I do, the houses we live in, I do, and the jobs we hold. I do.
And we pray today that we will all live in The Holy Spirit, listen to the whisper of The Holy Spirit and do the will of God the Father by imitating Jesus, as obedient sons and daughters. I do. Amen
I was talking with a person today who said he was a negative person. Question: “How do I get positive?”
EVERY DAY we pray this powerful prayer! This could be a starter.
And
Continue throughout the day thanking God for what They are doing for me, and our wonderful family
And,
By giving constant prayers of Praise and Thanksgiving, and trying to live as Jesus did, I can only be:
FANTASTIC!!!!!
Prayer:
If you want to grow in Love, Joy, Peace this is a result of growth in Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control.
Sidebar:
Last week at the golf course, I was loading my clubs into the car when a man approached me and said, “I played with you last year, and you gave me a card,” which he reached into his cart and proceeded to take out and show me.
We asked him if he said the prayers on the card?
He said he didn’t.
We suggested he learn the “Nine” and watch his life change.
He said he would. This wasn’t random, this was God working in both of our lives, I just pray he realizes this, as I did. He, maybe he will start praying the “Nine.” Me, I will get off my but and start giving out more cards.
In the Jail: Pat who finally learned the “Nine,” said he was leaving next week. We pressed him on how this happened and Pat responded that he was given an offer he couldn’t refuse. After further probing Pat realized this happened after he learned all of the prayers we have asked all of the men to learn.
Another man said he was looking at seventeen years, and was getting out next week. This caused a gasp in the group, and we reminded all of them that they have a choice: do as we ask and get out, or stay as they are and welcome to the jail.
We believe this same choice applies to all of us.
What an interesting week!
