Monday of the Third Week of Easter.

The readings for the Monday of the Third Week of Easter invite us to examine what we are really working for in life. In the Gospel (cf. Gospel of John chapter 6), Jesus challenges the crowd: “Do not work for food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life.”

It’s a striking reminder that so much of our energy goes into temporary things—success, comfort, recognition, yet these never fully satisfy.

Jesus is not dismissing our daily needs, but He is redirecting our priorities. He points us toward a deeper hunger: the desire for meaning, truth, and lasting life in God. The “food that endures” is ultimately Himself, His presence, His word, and the grace He offers. When we center our lives on Him, everything else begins to fall into its proper place.

Have a blessed Week

  1. Excellent reflection Father and a call to action to examine our priorities and center our lives on Jesus, the source of eternal life.

  2. Thank you Father, for this reflection. We are so often distracted by worldly concerns, that it’s easy for God to take second place in our lives.I pray for increased faith and trust in God’s will🙏🏻
