‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Cure the sick, raise the dead,
Cleanse the lepers, drive out demons.
Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.

As I wake up, I will type or write out my to-do list for the day, and since I’m posted in a less hectic department, I will be listing my study topics (exams in 5 months) and work around the house.

What I don’t list are habits that I’m sure I would do, like have breakfast and shower… but one habit I often skip is prayer time! I write it down as my priority for the month, but I don’t…

Jesus gave a mission to His disciples with a plan to execute, and every passing day I wake up, I learn that I should be thankful and focus on my mission of being a good human being, but alas! I fall prey to everything around me—moods, hunger, someone being rude, prejudice, anger, hate, gluttony, and worst of all, pride!

All of the above move my tiny brain to overthink situations and not focus on the goal at hand—being a good person!

I am typing this as I rush back to work to complete a task I skipped earlier, so sorry for keeping it short, but let us not lose sight of the goal!

AMEN.

  1. Thank you Analise! I’m also guilty of moving prayer down my priority list. Tomorrow is a new day!

  2. Thank you Analise. Go out into the world and share the good news. This is a habit so worth doing. Peace with you and sneak in those prayers when you can…the Father is always listening.

  3. Dear Analise,
You wrote: “I fall prey to everything around me—moods, hunger, someone being rude, prejudice, anger, hate, gluttony, and worst of all, pride!”
I don’t fall victim to all that you do but some of mine might be worse.
Be glad it’s not your mind. My mind can get very dark at times.
Most of all fail in some manner or another. I think it’s comes with being Christian. At least we are aware of our weaknesses and pray to do better. What I find hard to comprehend is that God loves us anyway. Lord I’m not worthy of you to enter under my roof but only say the word and my soul will be healed.

  4. Like St Paul said why do we keep doing the stupid things we don’t want to do and not do the things we want to do. Because we’re human and God loves us so much he’s forgiven us for all those things and thoughts.

God has declared all of us including you Analise and those who you share your thoughts with as Very Good!

God does not want us to beat ourselves up.
