Good day Skip, Socialism (Communism lite) is a form of government, in which the state owns must of the industries (if not all) and which establishes everything for the people even their education system; and above all is an “atheist system.”
The Christian religion practice by the Church right from the beginning, shares everything “voluntarily” , (same as today) each one contributes with something, the early Church was suffering persecution and many of its members, like today, didn’t have jobs and were in great need; think of the long lines at the many “charitable food banks” that you see in the news, the Christians of all denominations are practicing what today’s First reading is teaching us.
Please use your discernment and don’t let the devil confuse you.

Do you happen to know how long that type of communal life style lasted? When people and families gave up everything they owned to a part of. Seems to me that evil does eventually find it’s way into commune living. (AKA socialism).
I really liked your statement: “We often spend time decorating this life while thinking less of the real life.”
