“A”, are you for real?? Why are you upset with the joke the priest added at the ended of his homily? Is that the encouragement you would give him relating to the propagation of the Gospel? The joke there, is to make us increase our faith in God in times of challenges and at the same time believing in his power that he will one day come to our aids.
Fr Lawrence, thanks for this inspiring homily and may God bless and grant you his grace to propagate his words to the world

Really “A”? Really? It is comments like yours that assure me that you dont gain from the wisdom that is shared here daily. If you did, you won’t post such a comment. And so what if priests love adding a joke to their homily? Learn from it! Let the life lesson it teaches sharpen your spirit.

Really “A”? That is the best comment you have to make on this priest’s reflection of the readings? And he takes the time to send us on our day with a smile, and you find fault with that? Give your head a shake. Today’s psalm refrain is: “O that today you would listen to his voice! ‘Harden not your hearts.'” (I hope I have punctuated this to your satisfaction.)

Ugh, why do some priests think they need to add jokes to their homilies (because that’s what this is)? After a doom-and-gloom homily, your joke is out of place, as if you were trying to win us over. “See, I’m not so bad, I can tell a joke.” I would have appreciated a careful edit of your writing, because there are sentences that are not finished, words that are missing. Usually, this does not happen with your reflections, but today it did. Could your quest to be funny and lighthearted have led to the lack of care in editing the main piece?

It was if you were reading my mind. My family & I are dealing with a very tragic loss & it made me start doubting my faith. I just had nothing but doubt in my heart & in my soul.
