Dear Analise,
You are not alone in your struggles.Your doubts, questions and uncertainty are so human that I think most of us can relate to your words.Christians have and continue to be persecuted today the world over, but it’s rarely reported in the mainstream press or news channels.

Dr. Analise, thank you for your reflection, it was a “home run”.
I think Jesus used this story as a teaching lesson rather than he would never forgive his bad servant. The Jewish people did not yet have the luxury of confession as we know it today.
Yes, the Church gets attacked from all angles (including from within like the sedevanist who believe we haven’t had a legitimate pope since the 1950’s and don’t want to give up the old Latin Mass – what a mess).
Your open honesty blows my away. Yes, we are all human.
I loved all the comments and not much more to add to them. “Thanks fellow readers”.

Thank you for being an honest and open model of God’s children. We share your struggles in faith and in life. We also share the gifts and mercy from our Lord Jesus. Staying awake is no easy task however the Holy Spirit has limitless power. Your strength and faith are a inspiration for us here at the CM. We are blessed to have you. Thank you Dr. Analise. How I look forward to your Thursday reflections. You seem to verbalize what I cannot. Each day I pray for Jesus to come into my boat and guide my ship so I can be awake and attentive and not give in to the struggles that cause me doubt, fear, or change my focus to earthly things. My prayer for all of us is to stay awake and keep the course. Jesus has our backs!!!

Analise,

The gate into heaven is narrow for a reason. Therefore, don’t give up on living your faith in a Christlike manner. Although many will mock and hate you for your faith (as Jesus told us they would) there will be those few souls who are inspired by your words and actions to turn their lives over to our Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and be saved. Most of whom you will probably never know until you are in heaven. Thus, continue to persevere in your faith no matter the earthy cost that you will be required to pay. Compared to eternity this earthly existence is short.
