I appreciate the quote from Pope Benedict - "We must learn the need for suffering and for crises. We must put up with and transcend this suffering. Only in this way is life enriched. ". More often than not, I want to shake it off, dust it off. When I learn to embrace it, (and this is a daily effort), I am surprised by a feeling of calm. I used to clench my teeth during difficult times, and wondered why my jaw hurt ? . Once I realized that consciously, I stopped doing that. Recently it happened again. My sister's husband underwent triple bypass surgery a week ago. I wasn't so much concerned for my brother-in-law as for my 77 year old sister who is not in the best of health. I found myself worrying about her and once again clenching my teeth. Suffering and crises comes in many forms, and this, even tho not my personal suffering and crisis, nevertheless had an impact on me. My brother-in-law is recovering well, my sister on the other hand is still suffering the effects of stress. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank you. God bless.

Evil exits. We can 100% human, weak, self serving, pleasure seeker. How can we eradicate suffering if we don’t experience the pain. and It is remarkable how extremely individualized and personal suffering cloaks each of us. Thank you.

Thank you Mary. So close in suffering are you, as I can tell from your writing. I made no sense of my suffering or others until I was made to sit, kneel and lie by our Lord’s cross begging for understanding of my losses and pain. I was washed by tears and made new. Refined golden and purified.

I share in my condolences to Anonymous, who lost his/her niece.

Dear Lord God, please let the niece rest in peace, let all her sins be forgiven, and let all of her loved ones have peace in their minds, hearts, and souls. I ask you this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Dear Mother Mary, please become a mother to the precious Baby Boy now without his human mother. Whenever he feels loneliness and an internal longing for his mother, rush to his side and strengthen him. Comfort him, just like your Son was strengthened and comforted by the angel in Gethsemane. May he find peace in you, your Son, our Eternal Father, and the Holy Spirit. I ask you this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Dear Lord God, please comfort and syrengthen the father of the precious Baby Boy, as he embarks upon a new journey, which is not the one he pictured when he found out he would be a father. Dear Saint Joseph, please intercede on his behalf, as you know very well about family life not meeting the expectations you had. I ask you this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Dear Saint Agnes, please pray for us and intercede for us, and this family. I ask you this on Jesus' name. Amen.

Mary, thank you. Good stuff, but that's a heavy commentary, .... still trying to figure it out.
Anonymous I also am praying for the suffering of your family. May you all find joy in that precious gift of a baby.
