Sacred Heart Light Shining

Can you imagine what the Sacred Heart of Jesus must feel like? Please allow yourself to dream for a moment and allow yourself to become completely immersed within the vibration of all-embracing blissful love – what his Sacred Heart must be like. What would this place be like? A place where you are valued, you are desired, you are wanted – a place where you know, beyond any doubt, that you belong. Imagine for a moment what it would feel like if all of your heartaches, worries, troubles and fears were no more, as if they simply vanished and were consumed by the vast milieu of this complete and total love.

Now ponder for a moment what it would take for you to experience such bliss – his blissful Sacred Heart. What steps must you take? How can you get there? What is your first next step? Does it seem easy for you to find such blissful love, and if so, do you go there often? Where do you go? Or, perhaps you have experienced a taste of such divinity before, only to be pulled back into the heaviness of the world. Perhaps the path towards such immersion feels like an impossible journey because the heavy weight of the world makes such beauty an impossible dream?

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, know that being immersed within the vibration of complete and total love is not only possible – it is God’s desire for each and every one of us. Saint Paul tells us today that “For Christ, while we were still helpless, died at the appointed time for the ungodly….How much more then, since we are now justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath?” Paul is telling us that yes, my friends, we are helpless yet we are redeemable. We are helpless as a result of original sin and in being so it is impossible for us to reach the perfection required to be fully immersed within complete divine love on our own accord. We need help from our savior.

It is through the divine blood of Christ that our help alone is found, the divine blood of his Sacred Heart. The fluid of life itself, his glorious blood, that his Sacred Heart pumps for all of humanity is the greatest gift he has given us. You see, out of blood life arises. Physical blood carries the elements needed for life of the human body – beginning in the womb. Blood carries oxygen and nutrients so that our cells can live and replicate – our lifeblood. However, our physical blood is not enough for us to become fully immersed within divine love because we are more than a physical being, we are also a spiritual being created in the image of God himself. Given this we also need true spiritual blood, God’s blood – blood of the Sacred Heart. When Jesus Christ came and allowed his blood to be spilled for all of humanity, he not only spilled his physical blood – he also spilled his divine blood. Jesus, being fully human and fully divine offered his lifeblood so that we could gain entry into divine love – entry into his Sacred Heart.

“For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.” – John 6:55-56

Our first reading and our Gospel today both reveal to us how much God loves us, how much he wants us to live in his all-consuming love. His sheep are scattered, yet he tends to them, he will rescue them, he will lead them, he will bring them back, he will pasture and care for them, and he himself will seek them out. Jesus in today’s parable tells us how much he profoundly loves the lost sheep. “Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep. I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.” We are all lost sheep my friends, in need of repentance because we are all living in the murkiness and the affliction of this world.

The lifeblood we yearn for is all around us, we are already immersed within all that we need for eternal happiness and peace. Yet, while we are helpless to change original sin and the separation from our creator and subsequent painful wrath that followed, we do have access to the lifeblood our hearts yearn for. Jesus Christ is with us, he is in us, and he has given us the spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit, to guide us as we receive our needed lifeblood.

All we need to do is follow and listen to the Holy Spirit, when we do this the immersion of divine love is inevitable. I invite you to consider a devotion to the Sacred Heart as entry into such bliss. Perhaps a novena, a chaplet or a Rosary to his Sacred Heart. A quick Goggle search will open the door. We will come to live in the vibration of complete and total love under his loving guidance as we enter into his heart and our hearts will experience happiness and peace.

Recently I wrote a section in my book about the effect of original sin and the power it holds in our lives. Given my reflection today I thought you might find it helpful.

An excerpt from Chapter 3 of You – Fully Alive! – to be published in the Fall of 2016.

You – Fully Alive!

Using the Jesus Code to transform the hidden, and not so hidden, blocks holding you back from living a life fully alive!

How to Live Fully Alive

If you are like most of mankind you are probably not living the fullness of life your heart craves. More than likely you squander some of your precious energy chasing wants and desires that delude you with their false promises. Material possessions, praise, prestige, power, and worldly influence have taunted many a person since Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit. When such worldly preoccupations interfere with God’s plan for your life heartache and pain will follow – just like the pain your first parents experienced once they believed the lies of the serpent.

“But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” – Genesis 3:4-5

Remember, once Adam and Eve ate of the fruit everything changed in their lives. When they heard God in the garden instead of running to him with childlike excitement they hid and covered themselves. Why did they hide? Why did they cover themselves? They hid from God because they were afraid and filled with shame. Fear is powerful and it can rip us away from our benevolent creator if we allow it to do so. Fear is a tool the Evil One uses against us – the liar who came to steal, kill, and destroy – the one who is in the world. Fear and shame are the first two means the Evil One used to separate mankind from God after he first persuaded Adam and Eve into sin – no wonder they hold so much power in our lives.

“But the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?” And he said, “I heard the sound of thee in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.” – Genesis 3:9-10

Yet, Satan is powerless at the hands of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

“Little children, you are of God, and have overcome them; for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” – 1 John 4:4

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.” – John 14:27

Always remember who you are my friends – beloved children of a God who will go to great lengths, including his own death, to bring you back home into his Sacred Heart.

Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on us.

  4. Thanks for the beautiful sharing. I always struggle with the forbidden fruit/tree and serpent story because I ask what prompted GOD to plant such a tree? What purpose could that tree be in the overall equation?
Is that tree there to show that GOD will not interfere with freewill?
I can only continue to pray for GOD’s wisdom to comprehend these.
